Children rescued from sweat shops


Urgent crisis situation: Hundreds of children from Bihar were rescued in Telangana State (Hyderabad) in a raid on factories that forced them to work 12-hour days in "deplorable conditions," and sent to Patna, where authorities are currently working with NGO/CBOs to find emergency shelter and care.

It is reported that the children were forced to work for nearly 12 hours a day without any respite. Many were suffering from skin and other diseases as they were forced to work in unhygienic and unventilated dark rooms. Employers would monitor them with video cameras and any child who stopped working would be beaten.
